CAMERON
GIPP (Bigg Gipp) is a popular member of the rap group Goodie
Mob, the raw southern street rap quartet dubbed "the revolutionary
voice of black America" (The Source); With three gold albums under their
belt "Soul Food" (1995) "Still Standing" (1998) and "World
Party" (1999), including the hit single "Get Rich
To This." Gipp is now taking part in the "Dungeon Family Album"
with the new release "Trans D.F. Express" and will soon be touring with
the group. The
Dungeon Family consists of Goodie Mob, Outkast,
R&B artist/producer Sleepy Pat, super producer Rico Wade & several other
talented entities. Gipp made his acting debut in the heroic comedy "Mystery
Men" but he gets his real opportunity to show his acting abilities playing
a fictional version of himself in "Groupies".
NAKI
BROWN (Pancake/ Thelma Marshall) is a new comer to the film industry.
"Groupies" is Brown's first role in a motion picture. Before landing
her role as the hilarious Pancake in "Groupies"; Naki traveled with
the theater circuit. She has also appeared in several music videos with some of
todays hottest artist. Naki looks forward to more
movie/ television roles in the future; But in the meantime she is enjoying the
success of being chosen to co-star in "Groupies"
TAVIA
UPSHAW (Lisa) has appeared in such television movies as
"Passing Glory" (Turner Pictures) and "Mama Flore's Family"
(CBS), as well as co-hosting the series "Backstage Entertainment" (Media
One) and "A Gospel Sound" (WILO/NBC). Like
her character Lisa, Tavia has studied fashion design but switched to a career
in marketing. She also writes screenplays and song lyrics under her company name,
Mega-Star Entertainment. "Groupies" is her motion picture debut.
DEANNA DAVIS
(Peaches) is a talented screen/ stage actress and singer,
who has performed both as a solo artist and with such popular groups as EMI recording
artist Gumbo (produced by Arrested Development's Speech), Keith Sweat & Tupac.
Her screen credits include: starring in the romantic comedy "How I Spent
My Summer Vacation." featured in "Passing Glory", "A Season
In Purgatory" and in the popular television drama "Savannah". Her
recent film endeavors included a co-starring role in "Jawanna
Man" starring Miguel Nunez, Vivica Fox and Lil'Kim
and "Groupies" where she plays Peaches a stripper who aspires to get
her break as a singer. Here we get to view Deanna's acting and singing abilities.
WANDA
SMITH (Comedian) is a nationally acclaimed stand up comedian, whose
biting sense of humor and zany antics earned her a regular spot as the co-host
of Atlanta's V103
Frank Ski Morning Show. She has performed all over the country, Wanda
has appeared on HBO's "Def Comedy Jam", BET's
"Comic View" and "The Best of Comic View". She
has received honors for her uncanny ability to make people laugh. She was honored
as Favorite Black Headliner and Favorite Female Personality. Wanda alongside Jamie
Foxx, has helped to launch the Lafapalooza Event; Which takes place once and year
in Atlanta, Georgia and the proceeds go to various charities. Wanda Smith is a
comedian, radio personality, actress and humanitarian.
