Christmas Synopsis  Nina
Taylorson has recently gone through a divorce and decides to pursue
a career of her own. She and her young son Mason
pick up and move to a small town right outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Mason is unhappy
with the move and misses his father.

Stephens(78) is a long time resident of the neighborhood where Mason
and his mom are moving. Gaitus has recently lost his wife and misses her terribly. Someone
has abandoned several puppies in the kudzu and Mason discovers them one day when
he is looking outside his bedroom window. This is the high point to Mason's move
and he is determined to save the puppies.
Gaitus realizes how important it is to Mason and he save the puppies, so
Mason & Gaitus become quick friends when Gaitus comes up with
a plan to capture the puppies. After
the death of one of the puppies and several failed attempts to capture the others;
Mason becomes discouraged and feels as if Gaitus let him down. This feeling of
betrayal from Mason puts a tremendous strain on Mason and Gaitus's friendship.
However, The Christmas Holidays are approaching and a cold front is moving in.
Gaitus fears that the puppies will not make through the Holidays, so he does not
give up on finding the puppies. Mason notices Gaitus determination but disregards
it and refers to his old friend as a "Silly old
man". Mason had not learned how to have FAITH.

luck would have it, one cold winter day while Gaitus is outside looking for one
of the puppies, Mrs. Alma (50), one of Gaitus's longtime neighbors, notices him
outside talking to himself and crawling around on his hands and knees. She thinks
he's gone mad and calls for an ambulance to come pick him up and take him to the
hospital. Gaitus
ends up in the hospital and Mason realizes that he misses that "silly old
man" and decides to do something about it. Mason goes to his mom and tells
her what happened; "Gaitus is only in the hospital because he was trying
to help me find those puppies." Nina takes Mason to the hospital to visit
with his friend. Gaitus. Once they explain
to the doctors about Gaitus trying to find these puppies, he is allowed to go
home.

Christmas
is right around the corner and Nina has promised Mason that they will be able
to move to a bigger city during the Christmas holidays. Well his wish is about
to come true. Nina has completed her training and is being sent to Dallas, TX
to start her new job in the New Year. When Nina tells Mason the news she thinks
he will be happy. To her surprise all Mason can think about is finding the puppy,
and how he didn't want his old friend Gaitus to spend Christmas alone. Mason convinces
his mother to stay through the Christmas Holiday. Gaitus then convinces Mason
and his mother Nina to come to church with him. He has not been since his wife
died. During
the sermon the preacher (Thomas Byrd) speaks
about things that Mason really needs to hear. So that night Mason goes home and
prays. Christmas morning is a real blessing for Mason and Gaitus, it snows in
Atlanta and they are able to find the last surviving puppy. Though Mason still
had to move with his mom, Gaitus and Mason would forever be friends. Gaitus once
again knows that love does survive tragedy Mason learns the true meaning of faith. Kudzu
Christmas is a story that will last in your hearts for a lifetime.
It is a story to be enjoyed every year by audiences of all ages. |
